Confession! I’ve always been fascinated (and slightly jealous) of those stuffy private schools who got to sport super cute prep school uniforms. I think enforcing fashion is a fabulous policy! I’ve decided to live vicariously through private school peeps and re-create an accessory that brings out my inner prep; with a little edge. A few snips, a dabs of glue, some shiny ropes and chain is all it takes to turn posh inspired school fashion into an amazing accessory.

love cooking sunday dinners with stace! this time we totally modified the recipe to include celery, chives, grilled onions and some of that delicious bloody mary mix i was raving about earlier! YUM-O.

I discovered the epicurious iPhone app last night and immediately started playing. Loved the fact I could search by season (I choose Fall Pasta) and stumbled across a very simple roasted tomato recipe. A great way to end the week.

ps- one complaint is that the “add to shopping list” should let me unselect the ingredients I already own so I know exactly what I need to get when I hit the store. Oh and if they could link directly to a fresh direct or a max delivery, well I would be over the moon.

My friend Jacquelyn is living in Zanzibar for a couple of months (she’s been there since sept!) and I’m catching up on all of her amazing posts- This one particularly caught my eye since I’m dating a boy from London. I was cracking up reading these and their American translations. And now, I have some of my own to add:

take a piss out of - make fun of
treacle - defined as like a sugary juice or something, but really more of a pet name like “sweetie” (i think)
fancy dress - costume (this is especially confusing bc americans use the word ‘fancy’ but in a completely different way)
holiday - vacation
queue - line
punnett - this only really works when talking about strawberries (straw-bries) and the little green container they come in

oh how i hearts the brits!
