1,000 Followers

sometime between last night and this morning, i hit/passed the 1,000 followers mark on twitter.

i had told allison that i was secretly (now not-so-secretly) hoping to hit 1,000 followers by my bday at the end of may & she offered to try to help me.. but here’s the thing. i don’t want to try to just gain followers for the sake of followers. i want people to follow me who care/pretend to care ;) about what i think and who want to interact with me. i want followers who joke with me and people who hold me accountable.

so…if you follow me on twitter, thanks. i’ll try to keep it interesting… and playful :)

I sponsor a little 5 year old girl in Mexico who is the cutest little thing. Seriously. I can’t find her picture because I’ve packed everything away, but I’ll post it later.

Today I got a letter from her - She’s a bit too young to write but her friend Oscar helped write it for her (It’s in spanish, but translated it says):

Dear Ms. Siman,

my name is Gloria Lizeth Reyna Sanchez. i have light brown skin, brown eyes and a i’m a little bit short and thin. i’m in 1st grade of elementary school and i like to play with dolls and eat hamburgers. i like to go to the park and play on the swings because i have a lot of fun. i know how to spell some words. i help my mom with the house shores. i pck up dishes, wash them and sometimes go to the store. my favorite fruits are apples and tangerines and myf avorite vegetables are carrots, potatoes and squash. thank you for being my sponsor.
